Questions
What does Four-dimensional (4D) ultrasound mean?
“4D” stands for four-dimensional – the fourth dimension being time. 4D is the
most up-to-date ultrasound technology. 4D takes
three-dimensional ultrasound images and adds the element of time, allowing
you to see your unborn baby amazingly in real time detail.
Back to the Questions
What is the best time for Baby's First View?
This depends on how you would like to see your baby. Before 24 weeks,
babies have a more skeletal appearance with 4D, but you are able to see more
of the baby at once. From 28-36 weeks, babies are developing the fat layer
that fills in their features so you will see more facial detail at this
time. At Baby's First View we think the best time to
visit us is between 26-34 week into your pregnancy. 4D imaging depends upon
the baby’s position, size, and movement, maternal tissue and amount of
amniotic fluid, so we cannot guarantee image quality due to those factors.
For Twins, the best time is before 28 weeks of pregnancy.
Back to the Questions
Do I need to inform my Doctor?
No. Baby's First View
informs both parents that services offered are not
conducted for diagnostic purposes. Baby's First View provides forms for
parents for signing. Thus, providing a clear written
statement of the services offered at Baby's First View.
Back to the Questions
Will you provide measurements of the baby or establish a due date?
NO! Women seeking an elective prenatal ultrasound with 4D Fetal Imaging must
already be receiving prenatal care with a healthcare provider and have
already undergone a medical, diagnostic ultrasound to confirm their due
date, screen for fetal anomalies, and to diagnose any other pregnancy
related issues. We provide a limited scan to confirm the
gender of the baby, record video and take still pictures.. Please note, at no time is this exam to be used in
place of a complete diagnostic ultrasound.
Back to the Questions
Who Conducts the Ultrasound Sessions?
Our
ultrasound technologists are highly trained and have over 10
years of combined experience in O. B. scanning, and extensive 3D
experience as well. Our technologists perform a limited scan with
each session. We expect the
best, and so should you. Let our trained staff allow you to
experience the miracle of life as it has never been seen before!
Back to the Questions
Do you offer gender determination?
All technicians at Baby's First View are trained in determining gender and will give you there
best opinion. Again - Baby Rules - we can't
make guarantees that your little one will cooperate with us, but we can
guarantee we will make every effort to determine the gender of your child.
Because we have a bit more time than the doctor's office does, we are able
to spend more time determining the gender of your baby.
Back to the Questions
What if I don't want to know the gender.
NO PROBLEM!! Many parents think
that because this technology creates such clear images, that there is no way
to hide the sex. NOT TRUE! We have had many families request that we not
determine gender. When this is the wish of our guests, we accommodate with
no questions asked. We simply stay away from that area of your child, and
focus on other areas, such as face, hands, arms, etc. Just let us know your
wishes and we would be happy to hide the gender for you!
Back to the Questions
Will I be able to leave with package materials I purchased?
Yes, we provide package including DVDs of the entire session recorded to music.
All the images are
burned to a CD so that you can print copies or email to other family members or
friends. You will also receive color and black/white photos. Additional copies of media and pictures
can be purchased.
Back to the Questions
What if I am not satisfied with my images?
We make no guarantees that images will be
similar to those you might have seen elsewhere. Every baby scans differently, depending on its gestational age,
position, amount of fluid, and mother's condition.
Back to the Questions
Should I make an appointment in advance?
Yes, You may book your
appointment in advance, or call to see what is available in the near future.
Our appointments do tend to book up quickly – especially on Saturdays, so
booking in advance is recommended. We save this appointment time especially
for you to enjoy your baby with family and friends. Because of this, we ask
that you kindly give us 48-hour notice of cancellation or rescheduling to
avoid a cancellation/no-show fee. We want to make sure that if you are
unable to attend your visit with us, that we are able to give another mommy
a chance to take your place. Thank you in advance for your cooperation with
this policy.
